When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. ~Victor Frankl
Yet that is exactly the approach that needs to be taken, when making a choice to change a situation you must rely on yourself and the choices that you make in order to progress. As a situation is often a direct result of choices that were previously made the only true approach would be to make different choices, or at the very least realize that you put yourself here, in the current situation. If you put yourself there, it is only fair to understand that also you can improve the situation in reaching a consensus with the person in the mirror. The choice for change relates to the free will we all have, though it also relates of making something like a 180 degree turn, to position yourself to take that side road, to follow the not so beaten path, to improve your current circumstance.
Such a process is never easy, yet it is the most important, to take minute movements in that direction that starts with first making a decision to change it, then planning an approach that works for you and the most challenging part the follow through to the finale. Each stage will bring with it some challenges, that most certainly will have to be overcome to move onto the next stage. Each stage when resolved will better prepare you for the next stage. Making it through each stage will then give a slight boost in self-esteem, which then relates back to self-image and when the victory becomes the result becoming one which can later be looked upon as an example for other more challenging changes you have wanted to make for so long. Through that awareness and that simple victory under your belt, it will be found that after you overcome one, many that follow will also become far more easy to resolve, and progress then becomes far easier than it would have been before had you not first overcome the first challenge.
